Many of the others I tried just felt like toys, while the Oxygen Pro line feels more like a real instrument to me. In the end, I chose the M-Audio Oxygen Pro 49, mainly because of the feel of the keys. At the music store I tried several different ones, including several in the Arturia and Native Instruments line. I had a Nektar Impact LX25 on loan for awhile before I bought my own keys. I can't comment on all the keyboards you mention, but I can share my experience with you. I really like Open Source software and low cost or free software and I'm very thankful to have found Cakewalk is now free. The DAW I currently use are Cakewalk, Audacity, MuseScore (not really a DAW, but music notation, but if this controller helps me speed up scoring time, that would be great), and I want to try out other free DAW, VST plugins and so on. Are these more efficient at working with percussive instruments?
I haven't used them and mostly used just the piano keyboard itself to do that. I also noticed that some have pads for creating beats easily. Is this software truly free with it or is it a trial that after a time I would have to buy the software to keep using? I've noticed that some of them come with free software.
I'm also looking at what is the best build qualities? These are some of the many keyboards I've found various places and I'm not sure which one to get in terms of Compatibility with many DAW and other software and also whether or not these companies have good tech support for the drivers and setup.
The following list are ones I'm looking at and wondering which would be the best for my money considering features and so on? I was wondering what is the most compatible MIDI keyboard controller with Cakewalk or are they pretty much all compatible whatever I buy?
